Poem by Mrs Mary Ann Louise Dawn has broken
Birds chirp away happily.
The rumbling sound
Of the trolleys
Whose wheels creak
As it passes by
Laden with flasks
Filled with hot tea and coffee.
The eversmiling faces
Of the servers
As they goes about their chores
Of delivering bed coffee
To the residents
In their homes
And apartments.
The air is fresh
And breathable…
Early morning walkers
Either alone or in pairs.
Some go about it silently
Whereas some discuss
Sundry matters
Vigorous exercise by one.
Some are into clapping
And rubbing their palms
As they walk along.
Some can be heard
Chanting prayers
While some end their walk
And sit on the green benches
In meditation…
Admiring the beauty of nature.
The undulating pattern
Of the stone pathway
Makes me feel a bit light headed
Causing me to sway.
The security guards
At both the gates
Smile as they wish
The residents
As they begin a new day
In a healthy manner.
Putting their best foot forward
And taking steps
As long as they can.
And thanking the Creator
For yet another day
